Finally Autumn has arrived!
Saying it's Autumn here doesn't mean much.
I won't be finding any beautiful changing leaves on the ground or clutching a hot coco in my cold hands and yet I am still excited. I want to celebrate the season as much as I can and changing my clothes is one way to do it. Fall is my favorite and one I miss a great deal. With the change of the season and heat that no longer feels as though you might just melt, means that I get to start a new capsule and that is something to get excited about!
Whenever the seasons start changing so does my style. My hair gets a little darker without as much sun and the colors I like to wear become deeper and more neutral. Here is my current 32 piece capsule wardrobe.
Living in a warm climate means some of these things might not work for where you live, but they are easily adaptable. Picking heavier jackets and sweaters, or adding tights if you wish to wear shorts or dresses. Changing sandals out for boots. Adding accessories such as scarves and hats to keep you warm. We really only have two seasons here. Summer and rainy season so I am not changing out my capsule as frequently as someone with all four seasons.
Make sure your capsule is working for your life.

Items I do not include in my capsule: Under garments, sleepwear, active wear, accessories and special occasion wear. If I need to attend a winter ball I don't want to be confined to inappropriate attire for the occasion. It's a one time wear item and something I might consider renting, selling or donating after wearing.
My fall/Winter capsule will be 37 items once/if I purchase the pieces I am still looking for. I am in no rush to make these purchases and I want them to fit nicely, be of good quality, and fit within my budget. This is only my second capsule but I like to keep the number between 30-40 items. I have realized when I move to a colder climate that I might need more wiggle room and I've learned I don't need as much during those hot summer months.
The number is not as important as making sure I am making intentional and good purchases. I usually ask myself, can this item be made into at least four different outfits? Is this item practical for my lifestyle? Does this item fit now? Purchasing clothing that I will actually wear and be able to put to good use without buying more than necessary.
I will recap and let you know how it went before switching to my Spring/Summer capsule.
Did it work out as well as I hoped?
Did I get sick of wearing the same things?
or run out of ideas to remix my items?
Was it all weather appropriate?
After all, this is a learning process.
Until then I'll share outfit posts to show you how I wear everything!
